The pizza a metro was born in 1930s, thanks to the idea of Luigi Dell’Amura, a.k.a. Gigino. Cleverness,  fantasy, intuition, hard work transformed the way of making pizza. The idea of creating pizzas with different sizes according to the number of people at the table was born in order to satisfy the need to serve more guests in the shortest possible time but with high quality standards. And finally, the Pizza a metro and the old bakery of the Dell’Amura family became a big restaurant – the pizzeria.

During the years, the Pizza a metro has grown, and now it’s known around the world. Thanks to his talent, Luigi Dell’Amura radically changed the standards of flour manufacturing and continues to strive to perfect the art of making pizza.

Patent & University

From the 1960 patent, another important step was the creation of the “University of pizza”. Thanks to his talent, Luigi Dell’Amura has managed to start a real school that has radically changed the criteria of processing flour for the preparation of pizza. Above all Pizza a metro philosophy impact the way of understanding this product, as product of the art of the pizza maker.

Hundreds  of young pizza maker learned the of the pizza at the university of pizza. Today the “University of pizza” is a point of reference in the national gastronomic panorama.

Pizza & Gastronomy

At Pizza a metro the pizza is the crowned jewel. The restaurant also features many specialties of  Neapolitan tradition. There are many handmade dishes prepared with local fresh ingredients. The spacious restaurant offers a setting for every occasion. The ground floor features a spacious and charming dining room as well as a garden with seating capacity for up to 400 people. The upper floor offers a more intimate setting in modern dining rooms. Overall, Pizza a metro can accommodate many guests and is the ideal location for special events: weddings, graduation parties, baptisms, birthday parties, anniversaries, conferences and conventions.  Parking is only a few steps away from the restaurant.

The wonderful location, authentic cuisine and the friendliness of the staff make Pizza a Metro a special experience. The sons and grandsons of the founder Gigino Dell’Amura manage the restaurant together with the director Mr. Giovanni Rivieccio. We make our guests feel like part of our family.
